Poison Sumac

Poison sumac is the least widespread of the three untouchables. It gravitates towards still, standing water and thus thrives in marshy areas in the northern U.S. and in swampy areas in the south. A tall, gangly shrub, this weed produces tapered, smooth-edged leaves in groups of seven to thirteen per branch. Mature plants flower and generate small, cream-colored berries.
